Wildfires in Australia : how crocheters can help

Wildfires in Australia : how crocheters can help

The start of 2020 has brought its share of bad / horrible news, including the horrifying fires in Australia. If you've been at a loss as to how to help, I have a suggestion for you - brought to you by a fellow crochet designer : Shelley of Spincushions

Shelley is known for her beautiful granny square designs. And she's on a mission.

In January and February, Shelley will be donating 100% of the sales of her Shine with hope crochet square to two major organizations to help and rebuild Australia once the fires are under control. The square is beautiful, and the mission even more so.

In January, proceeds will go to Red Cross Australia, who can and are getting help to those in most need as soon as possible .

In February, they will go to Greening Australia, who plant trees to restore the natural environment

So forget mittens for koalas, especially if, like me, you're halfway around the world! The money you give through this effort will 100 % go to those people best placed to help during these disturbing times.
