Materials



Artyarns Ensemble Light 50% Silk / 50% Cashmere (80g / 400 yds / 366m) & Artyarns Beaded Silk Sequins 100% Silk (50g / 110yds / 101m) x 1 skein each



Hook



US G / 6 / 4 mm



Notions



Thread needle; sitch marker.



Gauge



Gauge based on : Blocked shells.



2shells W x 3.5shells H = 4 ’’2 (10 cm2)

Notes



Shawl is worked from bottom up, increasing with each row. Border is added once main portion is completed.



Special stitches



Shell (SH): Tr, (ch 1, tr)4x in same space.



Beg‐shell (Beg‐SH) : Ch 5, (ch 1,tr)4x in same space.



Border shell (BSH) : 3 tr in same space.



Picot (P): Ch 3, sl st in 1st ch.





INSTRUCTIONS





Section 1 - Shawl



With Ensemble Light



Row 1 : Ch 7 to start, ((tr, ch 1) 3x, tr) in 1st ch. Turn. (1 SH)



Row 2 : Over SH work (Beg‐SH in 1st tr, sc in 3rd tr, SH in last tr). Turn. (2 SH)



Row 3 : Over 1st SH work (Beg‐SH in 1st tr, sc in 3rd tr), SH in next sc, over 2nd SH work (sc in 3rd tr, SH in last tr). Turn.



Row 4 à 29 : Over 1st SH work (Beg‐SH in 1st tr, sc in 3rd tr), *(SH in next sc, sc in 3rd tr of next SH), rep from * to last tr, SH in last tr. Turn. (+1 SH afer ea row)



At the end of row 29, do not turn. Work the following border base round on which you will subsequently crochet the border :



Border base round : Sl st in corner, moving toward point (1st SH of secKon 1) work *Ch
5, sc in top of next end of row tr. Rep from * to point. Over point work ch 3, sc.



Moving back up toward next corner, rep from *. End with sl st in corner tr.



Finish off & weave in ends.





Section 2 - Border



With Beaded Silk Sequins



Border is worked in a single round, over ch‐5 spaces and sc of base row. You’ll start in one corner, work toward & over
point, before moving back up to next corner. Round is completed by working in section 1, pattern row 4 over last shawl
row worked.



Join with sl st to 3rd ch of 1st ch‐5 sp.



Tour 1 : Ch 1, sc in same ch, *ch 2, BSH in next sc, sc in 3rd ch of next ch‐5 space. Rep from * to point. In ch‐3 space of point, work (tr, P, tr, P, tr). Rep from * to next corner. Over last row worked in section 1, work in established pattern.



Finish off & weave in ends.



SECTION 3 – FINISHING



Blocking : Soak shawl, delicately remove excess water, pin to measurements.



Leave to air dry.
