INSTRUCTIONS
You will need :
Small quantity of Sport weight cotton, or any sturdy yarn you have on hand.
3.75 mm hook, or hook appropriate for chosen yarn.
Yarn needle
Stitch marker
Abbreviations used :
sl st (slip stitch)
ch (chain)
sc (single crochet)
dc (double crochet)
tr (triple crochet)
sk (skip)
ea (each)
Instructions for flower :
Ch 5, sl st into 1st ch to form ring.
Round 1 : Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 14 dc into ring, sl st into top of 3rd ch to close. (15 dc)
Round 2 : Ch 1, sc in 1st dc, (dc, 3 tr, dc) in next dc, sc in next dc, *sc in next dc, (dc, 3 tr, dc) in next dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * to end of round, sl st in 1st sc to close. (5 petals)
Round 3 : Over each petal : sl st to middle tr, ch 2, sl st in same st (picot made).
Fasten off & weave in ends.
Instructions for stem :
Ch 51
Row 1 : sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea ch across. (50 sc)
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing. Weave in ends.
Attach flower to stem.
Instructions for tassel :
Cut 16 6” pieces of yarn and weave through end of tail to have 32 3” lengths of yarn. Secure with a length of yarn approximately ½” from top of tassel.
