Here's a present from me to you this Holiday season! I hope it'll keep you feeling warm and loved all through Winter.

Ombre comfy cowl (Holidays 2014)

ACCROchet Holidays 2014

You will need :

Imperial Yarn, Erin Wool (Worsted, 3 ply; 100% wool; 113g - 245 yards - 224m.)

1 skein each of 3 colours (Here : Natural (A), Rain (B), Sweet Plum (C))

6 mm hook

Stitch marker

Yarn needle

Gauge :

Gauge is not important for this project.

Finished size :

Height : 7.5'' (19 cm); Circumference : 79'' (198 cm)

If you are a tight crocheter, move up a hook size; if you are a loose crocheter, move down a hook size.

Abbreviations used :

Fsc (Foundation single crochet)

Sc (Single crochet)

Sc-blo (Single crochet, back loop only)

Ea (Each)

Sl st (Slip stitch)

St(s) (Stitch(es))

Instructions :

With A, Fsc 75. Turn.

Rows 1 - 28 : Ch 1, sc in 1st st, sc-blo in ea st across to last st, sc in last st. Turn. (75 sts)

Finish off & weave ends in.

Repeat with colours B and C.

You now have 3 ridged rectangles.

Note : When sewing parts together, they should be placed side by side with right side facing. This will ensure that your ridges are aligned.

With right sides of A and B facing, sew short ends together with A. Weave ends in.

With right sides of B and C facing, sew short ends together with B. Weave ends in.

With right sides of C and A facing, sew short ends together with C. Weave ends in.

You now have a circle.

Note : You will want to start the 1st round in the direction opposite to that in which you have ended the 28th row. This will ensure that your ridges follow the established pattern.

Attach A to any join point of the scarf.

Round 1 : Ch 1, sc-blo in 1st st and ea st around. Change to B while completing last sc-blo. Join with sl st in 1st st. Turn. (225 sts)

Round 2 : Ch 1, sc-blo in 1st st and ea st around. Change to C while completing last sc-blo. Join with sl st in 1st st. Turn.

Round 3 : Ch 1, sc-blo in 1st st and ea st around. Join with sl st in 1st st. Finish off & weave ends in.

Repeat rounds 1 to 3 on opposite side of circle.

You now have a comfy cowl to hug you through Winter!
