Toutoumou softie, free crochet pattern
Materials
Yarn:
100g bulky or super bulky, Cream
50g bulky or super bulky, Multi
You can make this softie with the yarn of your choice. Simply adjust hook size for tight stitches.
Hook
7 mm
Notions
Yarn needle; stitch markers; stuffing; pompom.
Gauge
Stitches must be tight. Choose a hook that prevents you from seeing through them.
Finished size
Will depend on yarn choice. Here, from bum to top of head, Toutoumou measures approx 20 cm.

Section 1 : Body
Ch 2
Round 1 (RS). 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join. Place marker in 1st sc and move up with ea round. 6 sc
Round 2. 2 sc in ea st around. 12 sc
Round 3. *2 sc in 1st st, sc in next. Repeat from * around 5 more times. 18 sc
Round 4. *2 sc in 1st st, sc in next 2. Repeat from * around 5 more times. 24 sc
Round 5. *2 sc in 1st st, sc in next 3. Repeat from * around 5 more times. 30 sc
Round 6. *2 sc in 1st st, sc in next 4. Repeat from * around 5 more times. 36 sc
Round 7. *2 sc in 1st st, sc in next 5. Repeat from * around 5 more time. 42 sc
Rounds 8-17. Sc in ea st around.
Round 18. *Sc2tog, sc in next 5. Repeat from * 5 more times. 36 sc
Round 19. Sc in ea st around.
Round 20. *Sc2tog, sc in next 4. Repeat from * 5 more times. 30 sc
Round 21. Repeat Round 19.
Round 22. *Sc2tog, sc in next 3. Repeat from * 5 more times. 24 sc
Round 23. Repeat Round 19.

Weave end through sts on last round, pull tight to close.
Weave in ends.
Section 2 : Arms
Ch 41
Row 1. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook and ea ch across. Do not turn. Working under chs, sl st in ea ch back to start. Sl st in 1st sl st. 80 sl sts
Finish off and weave in ends.
Push one end through opening of a yarn needle.
Pull arms through body at Round 18.
Section 3 : Legs
Ch 51
Row 1. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook and ea ch across. Do not turn. Working under chs, sl st in ea ch back to start. Sl st in 1st sl st. 100 sl st
Finish off and weave in ends.
Push one end through opening of a yarn needle.
Pull legs through body at Round 3, 4 stitches apart.
Section 4 : Mittens and boots (make 4)
Ch 5
Round 1. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 3, sl st in 1st sc. 4 sc
Round 2. Ch 1, 2 sc in ea st across, sl st in 1st sc. 8 sc
Finish off.
MITTENS: Pull mitten onto end of arm on one side. Weave in ends, attaching mitten to arm. Repeat on second side.
BOOTS: Repeat instructions above for both boots.

Ch 42, sl st to 1st ch to form ring.

Round 1. Ch 3, 2 dc in same space, skip 2 ch, sc in next, skip 2 ch*, 5 dc in next. Repeat from * 5 more times, ending last repeat at **, 2 dc in same sp as starting ch, sl st to top of starting ch. 7x 5-dc shells, 7 sc
Finish off and weave ends in.
Attach pompom to top of hat.
Pull hat onto body and sew in place.
