Description
What’s this: These are the Mint chocolate chip socks. They are my 5th design for Design Wars.
Why should I make these: I wanted to create an intricate crochet sock, showing off the stitches we crocheters use. The yarn is carried throughout, making for very few ends to weave in. The top of the foot & the leg, because of the colourwork, are super smooshy and comfy. Linked double crochet on the sole make the bottom of the sock sturdy.
When will these get the most use: With your prettiest maryjanes!
Who are they for: Sized teen to adult women and men, with option for a thinner or wider foot.
Where do I start: This pattern is rated Advanced – you’ll need to be comfortable with crochet before you take these on. You will need 100g of sock weight yarn in the main colour, and 50g of sock weight yarn in each of 2 contrasting colours (used here: Valley Yarns, Huntington – 75% Superwash merino / 25% Nylon, 50g (218 yds), 50g Colour Arctic (A), 100g Colour Natural (B), 50g Colour Coffee (C)) & a 2.25 mm hook. Other notions: a yarn needle, and some stitch markers.
