Wander, Furls Crochet, Worsted weight yarn, 100% acrylic – 100 g (240 yd/218 m)

4 balls of each of 2 colours

Here: Vineyard (A) and Moonbeam (B)

Hook

5.5 mm hook (or size needed to obtain gauge)

Notions

Yarn needle, stitch markers (2).

Gauge

7 V and 10 rows = 4 in (10 cm)

To check your gauge

Work according to the instructions until you can compare your measurements with the information above. Adjust the hook if necessary.

Finished size

39.4 in x 39.4 in (100 cm x 100 cm), before blocking.

ch… chain

dc… double crochet

fsc… foundation single crochet

RS… right side

sc… single crochet

sl st… slip stitch

st… stitch

WS… wrong side

Special stitch

V… (dc, ch 1, dc) in indicated stitch or space

Notes

This project is crocheted in rows, from bottom to top. A simple border is added along the row ends.

Colour changes every 2 rows. Change colour when completing the last stitch of the row.

Do not cut the yarn at colour changes: you can carry it up 2 rows later.

You can modify the width of the project by adding foundation single crochet stitches.

To add 4 in (10 cm), add 14 fsc to start. This will require more yarn.



INSTRUCTIONS

With A, make 136 fsc to start.

Row 1 (RS). Ch 2 (count as a dc), V in next st, [skip next, V in next] across, dc in last st, turn. 67 Vs, 2 dc

In Row 2, you will work mostly in the spaces between Vs.

Row 2 (WS). Ch 1, sc in space before first V, [ch 1, skip V, sc in space before next V] across, placing last sc in top of starting chain, turn. 68 sc, 67 ch-1 spaces

Rows 3-4. Repeat Rows 1-2 with B.

Rows 5-88. Repeat Rows 1-4, alternating colours as established.

Rows 89-90. Repeat Rows 1-2 once more. After last row, finish off and weave ends in.



Border prep. Join B to bottom of throw to work in row ends toward the top. Make 2 sl sts in dc row ends and 1 sl st in sc row ends. Finish off and weave ends in.

Repeat in row ends on other side. Finish off and weave ends in.

Border. Join A with sl st in sl st at bottom of throw to work toward the top, [sc in next, sl st in next] across. Finish off and weave ends in.

Repeat in sl sts on other side. Finish off and weave ends in.

Finishing

Lightly steam block.
